I'm shopping for a new Bluetooth headset for my iPhone 4 and noticed that some headsets support the apt-X codec for "CD-quality sound". Presumably this is better quality than plain old A2DP that I've been using so far.
In this article, they list the iPhone SE from 2016, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S as no longer being supported, most likely because these phones by default shipped with iOS 9. A lot of other news sources have similar claims, though it appears most of these were sourced from The National. As an owner of an iPhone SE from 2016, I'm confused now.
When you run an iPhone-only app on an iPad, it runs in an iPhone-sized window (or a 2x-iPhone-sized window), so it looks the same as on an iPhone. There's no aspect ratio difference, etc. Unless you have a really good reason not to (not just that the "layout only works well on iPhone"), I wouldn't worry about it. –
I searched for "iphone se technical specifications" on both the support site and the main Apple site and one site gave me info on 1st gen SE, the other on 2nd gen SE (both labelled "iPhone SE"). The resulting spec page has info about the Bluetooth version supported, so I suppose it is determined by the hardware and not on the iOS version.
You can use the 12W charger with iPhone 7 Plus. It will charge it much faster than a stock 5W charger. I have iPhone 7 Plus myself and using 12W charger all the time. I measured many chargers and stopped on original Apple 12W iPad charger. Works the best for me. You can measure the charge on your own phone with a free app - Amperes Lite.
Interesting. That article also says "Dual Bluetooth Audio is part of the Bluetooth 5 specification, although it’s not clear if the Bluetooth 5 radios present in the iPhone since 2017 can support it. If so, it is possible Apple could also add this feature to iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS with a software update."
Most other (non-Apple) eBook stores sell ePub books encrypted with Adobe's Adept DRM wrapper, which you can't read with the iBooks app (although certain other eBook apps do support the Adobe DRM system) Mobi is for other reader systems (I believe the Kindle uses this format) and is not supported by the iBooks app.
I had a call with Apple Tech Support and they asked to share my iPhone (11, latest iOS) screen. I granted them permission (clicking swiftly through a number of screens that popped up) and they moved a cursor around on the screen and told me where to click.
You could run apps that support iOS 9(some apps require a certain minimum iOS). This would be assessed on an app-by-app basis. You might get lucky with some, but you should research the requirements of the specific apps you'd like. You could sync it with iTunes to listen to music and podcasts. You could still make phone calls.
Anything else on JB is doing it wrong (specially now we have android, even for iPhone) - and I'm saying that from my heavy experience using jailbreak from iPhone 3 to 4. Now, to address your main and unannounced question, best thing you can do to test if your hardware is malfunctioning is to backup your iPhone and reset to factory. Then fill it ...
