Scotlandville Magnet High School (SMHS) is a public high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. Scotlandville High is part of the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools. The school serves the Scotlandville neighborhood of Baton Rouge as well as a section of the Brownfields census-designated place. [2] [3]
The district requires all students to wear school uniforms, except those attending Baton Rouge Magnet High School and Liberty Magnet High School. [3]The district also partners with The Cinderella Project of Baton Rouge, a charity that provides free prom dresses to public high school students who cannot otherwise afford them.
Scotlandville is a community located in north Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It was originally a small, independent rural community that developed along the Mississippi River in northern East Baton Rouge Parish. [2] In 1914, Southern University and A&M College relocated to this community.

Beekman was a four-year letter-winner from 2017–20 under head coach Carlos Sample at Scotlandville Magnet HS. During his tenure, he led the Hornets to an impressive 131–14 record and four Louisiana High School Athletic Associate (LHSAA) 5A state championships. The four students became the first African American high school graduates in Louisiana. The original McKinley High School building was constructed in 1926 and opened in 1927, and was named in honor of the 25th President of the United States. The school opened September 19, 1927 on Texas Street, currently named Thomas H. Delpit Drive.
