Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet for Health Sciences and Engineering at Pearl High School (or simply MLK Magnet) is a public magnet high school located in Nashville, Tennessee. MLK includes grades 7–12, and students enter through a lottery process similar to the other magnet schools in Nashville.
Lauderhill 6–12 STEM-MED is a magnet school in Lauderhill, Florida that serves the sixth and twelfth grades. It is a part of Broward County Public Schools.The high school portion is the first to open in the city of Lauderhill.
In the late 1970s, officials considered closing the school, but this was met with opposition from alumni and Ligon continued to operate. The Crosby-Garfield school in Raleigh merged into Ligon at the same time. [10]
Silva Magnet High School is a three-story, one-building campus located on the grounds of Jefferson High School in south-central El Paso. The University Medical Center (formerly Thomason General Hospital) and the Texas Tech University Health Science Center are located directly across the street from Silva. Students from middle schools throughout the county apply for admission to the high school
The school opened as Austin Middle School in 1972. [4] In 1974, the school was re–named Michele Clark Magnet High School in honor of the Chicago television journalist Michele Clark who's noted as one of the first African-American woman to serve as a news reporter. For the 2002–2003 school year, Clark was converted into a high school. [5]

On April 11, 2012 the HISD board voted to establish the school. [4] The HISD board approved the conversion of the Ryan Middle School building into a magnet school. Jyoti Malhan was selected as the founding principal of the school. [5] The goal was to have at least 100 6th grade students upon its opening.
