Rock Ridge High School is a public secondary school in Ashburn, Loudoun County, Virginia. The school is part of the Loudoun County Public Schools system. It is currently the fourth newest high school in the school system. Rock Ridge's student body is drawn from the Ashburn and Dulles area.
The Independence High School Marching Band under the direction of Kyle Harrington and Amanda Young has grown a prestigious reputation since its beginning in 2019. Before the 2011–2012 school year the decision was made to hold part of the freshman classes at the then nearby middle school feeder, Mercer Middle School. The enrollment at Freedom had risen to over 2,000 students (note: the building capacity is 1,600). Because of the new middle school opening of J. Michael Lunsford this was possible.
