Ed Byrne was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, in 1946. [2]Since the 1970’s, Byrne played trombone as a sideman alongside many of the New York jazz scene’s most well-known jazz artists (e.g., Chet Baker, Joe Henderson, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Mingus, Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colon, Manu Dibango, and many others).
Since the late 1980s, he frequently returned to his hometown to perform with his trio of two other Pittsburgh musicians, Gene Ludwig and Roger Humphries. Ponder's highest charting release was Somebody's Child, which reached No. 3 on the JazzWeek airplay chart in 2007. Ponder died of lung cancer in Pittsburgh at the age of 67 in September 2013.

Legends of Jazz with Ramsey Lewis was a 13-week, public television show, produced by the Chicago-based independent music entertainment company, LRSmedia and distributed by WTTW. It was first broadcast on public television stations in April 2006. The series was the first weekly network television jazz show in 40 years.
Biography. Bryant was born in Huntington, West Virginia, and grew up in Columbus, Ohio, becoming a fixture of the local jazz scene. He worked with Tiny Grimes and Stomp Gordon before founding his own ensemble, the Carolyn Club Band, in 1951. He signed with Dot Records in 1954 and released several albums as a leader in the second half of the 1950s.
