The Army Training School (ATS) ( Sinhala: යුද්ධ හමුදා පුහුණු පාසල, romanized: yuddha hamudā puhuṇu pāsala) is a unit of the Sri Lanka Army responsible for recruit training and unit training for infantry battalion.
Recruitment and training. Any member of the Sri Lanka Army can apply for the Special Forces Regiment. Applicants need to pass the 28 day selection course. Candidates who successfully complete this course are then enrolled to complete the basic Special Forces course which lasts between 10–12 months.
The Maduru Oya Dam is an irrigation dam built across the Maduru Oya. The embankment dam measures 1,090 m (3,580 ft) in length, 41 m (135 ft) in height, and creates the Maduru Oya Reservoir.
