The Central Avenue Jazz Festival is a yearly annual free jazz festival that takes place the last weekend in the month of July in the Southern section of Los Angeles. Central Avenue , after which the area is named, was in the 1930s and 1940s a vibrant center for jazz.
The Baked Potato is a prominent jazz club on Cahuenga Boulevard in Studio City, Los Angeles, California, opened by Don Randi (father of bassist Leah Randi) in 1970. Randi formed his own group, Don Randi and Quest, as the house band.
In 2022, the festival changed its name. It was held June 25 and 26 that year and hosted by comedian Arsenio Hall . The event is organized by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, which presents the summer Hollywood Bowl concerts.
