The changing view of unwed motherhood is the topic of an upcoming PBS documentary, “Sunshine. “Sunshine,” produced by 2000 W&M grad, Megan Gilbride, explores how American views of unwed motherhood and single parenthood have changed in the last 40 years. Director Karen Skloss was born to an unmarried mother who felt no choice but to put her up for adoption. When Karen was in her 20s and became pregnant without being married, she felt able to choose to keep her daughter.
