Romeo & Harriet

More than 50 talented teens perform in this musical spoof of "Romeo & Juliet," set in modern day New York City.  It features the clerks of the swanky Montague's Department Store and the secondrate Capulet's Discount Mart. Romeo and Harriet, the heirs to these two retail empires, fall in love, just as Shakespeare's character did, but this musical has a happy ending!  There's laughter galore as the quarrelling chorus members trade insults filled with comic wit.  The audience won't even know they're learning Shakespeare…but they just might die laughing!   The production is a partnership between The Carroll County Arts Council and Maryland Ensemble Theatre's Fun Company.
