Our 8th Annual Firecracker 4K race is the perfect way to kick off your July 4th festivities! In 2008 over 800 runners and walkers participated in our family event. With the 4th falling on a Saturday this year, our goal is to celebrate 2009 in a "GRAND" way with over 1000 participants! The race will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, July 4th. It will be held on the Penn State campus starting near Beaver Stadium (the race map will be posted on the website when the route is finalized). Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate. A digital timing system will be used to determine the winners in 8 different age groups. Prizes will be awarded in all age groups and to the top overall male and female participants. All proceeds from race entry fees and our many generous local sponsors go to support 4th Fest activities. So grab a friend or family member and come join the fun! There will be plenty of healthy refreshments for all participants.
2009 Firecracker 4K t-shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants. Our 8th Annual Firecracker 4K race is the perfect way to kick off your July 4th festivities! In 2008 over 800 runners and walkers participated in our family event. Come back for all the activities in the afternoon.
