A night of powerhouse soul from three amazing singers, each has her own expressive voice and style. This will be the concert of the season!
Grammy nominee Marcia Ball blends sounds from the Texas-Louisiana border with New Orleans R&B and piano boogie. Her current CD "Peace, Love & BBQ" debuted at #1 in the Billboard Blues Charts. "Ball is a formidable musical force." - Billboard Magazine
Bettye LaVette earned a 2008 Grammy nomination for her critically acclaimed CD "The Scene of the Crime" and is one of the greatest soul singers in American music today. She possesses an incredibly expressive voice that exudes a formidable level of strength and intensity and yet can appear vulnerable, reflective, and evoke heartbreak.
Maria Muldaur's roots are in the folk revival of the early '60s where she performed in Greenwhich Village with Bob Dylan, David Grisman and John Sebastian. Her 1974 hit "Midnight at the Oasis" charted at #6 in the Billboard Hot 100 and in the late 70s she joined Jerry Garcia's Band. She is currently recording again with Grisman and Sebastian for a record to be released in September.
