This film explores the lingering consequences of the American war in Vietnam, as well as the ongoing challenges of reconciliation. For vets, it can mean reconciling with the loss of friends, with the painful memories, or with a government that sent them to fight an unpopular war. The film also looks at the challenges of reconciliation between nations, especially in the wake of the unprecedented violence of that war. The wounds of the Vietnam War are still with us. They continue to affect veterans, their families, and millions of Vietnamese people who are still plagued by chemical contamination. Though more than 30 years have passed, we have not fully reconciled with ourselves or with our former enemy. This film sheds light on the conditions for making peace and avoiding future âVietnams.â
