Yamato - The Drummers Of Japan "Matsuri" - World Tour

The Luhrs Center welcomes back Yamato - The Drummers of Japan for another spectacular heart-pounding performance!
Not dance exactly, not music precisely, not spectacle solely, Yamato is a combination of all three. They fill the stage with huge, beautiful drums and beat seven bells out of them, at an unrelenting decibel level. And they do this all with phenomenal skill, applying ferocity somewhere between the seriousness of samurai and the crazed exhibitionism of heavy-metal rock drummers.
This year's world tour, "Matsuri" or "traditional Japanese festival", comes from Matsuru, which means "praying to the higher spirits". The rituals of the festival were to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and provide personal prayers for good health and peace. And at the heart of every Matsuri gathering, you would always find the traditional Japanese drum, the Wadaiko.
This amazing combination of drums and lights will leave you breathless.
