Acting Class - January 2010 - Tuesday Evenings

The next 8-week adult acting class begins Tuesday, January 26, 2010 and runs through Tuesday, March 16. Class will be co-taught by founding artistic director Carol Piersol and her husband Morrie Piersol.
Instructor Morrie Piersol has been involved with the Firehouse as a director, actor and acting instructor. His directing credits include many of the Firehouse Theatre's most acclaimed productions such as This is Our Youth, I am My Own Wife, The Goat, Curse of the Starving Class and Glengarry Glen Ross. In 2008 Morrie directed Sam Shepard's The Late Henry Moss, which won the 2008 Richmond Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Play. His Firehouse acting credits include Edmond, in which he played the title role, Because He Can and Triple Play. Prior to moving to Richmond Morrie was active in theatre in New York where his acting credits included work at Playwright's Horizon's, The Actors Studio and in the Broadway production of The Runner Stumbles. Morrie currently teaches acting at the Firehouse Theatre as well as at Appomattox Regional Governor's School in Petersburg where he a full-time instructor in the Theatre Arts Department as well as a main stage director.
Classes will consist of Meisner method acting exercises and scene work and will culminate in an acting class showcase during which students will perform scenes on the Firehouse stage for family, friends and the public. All classes are 7:00-9:00 pm at the Firehouse Theatre.
