Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

From Mark Twain to Broadway to The Pittsfield Players stage we are pleased to present "Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" a musical written by William Hauptman with music and lyrics by Roger Miller. Based upon Mark Twain's classic 1884 novel of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the show features music in the bluegrass and country styles in keeping with the novel setting. Follow Huckleberry Finn through his "escape" from St. Petersburg to Jackson's Island where his raft adventure begins down the big river to Bricktown, Arkansas, meeting all too familiar characters along the way. "Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" tells the story of our country, American history, a chronicle of racial conflict and reconciliation, the quest for freedom, and the seduction of the frontier for the civilized, or too civilized, individual. Show dates are November 6th and 7th @ 8pm, November 8th @ 2 pm, November 13th @ 8pm and November 14th @ 2pm and 8pm. Regular Admission $15.00
