Jason Brown

With pure vocals that wrap listeners in the emotion of each lyric, Jason Brown’s youthful charm finds a home standing on a musical front porch near the corner of Beer Run Boulevard and Sunday Morning Avenue. His sophomore project on “Dream It Records” displays this polished contemporary country artist’s ability to power through a ballad and let loose on tracks like We’re All In The Same Boat, a tribute to fishing and male camaraderie. “There is no career guide for the music industry and I have been many miles trying to discover my place on the scene,” says Jason.

Brown, who’s shared the stage alongside country’s leading and rising artists including Gary Allan, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Sugarland, Emerson Drive, Craig Morgan, Phil Vassar, Lady Antebellum, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Taylor Swift, Chuck Wicks, The Lost Trailers, Trent Willmon, and Montgomery Gentry (just to name a few), has been performing since the age of four. “Even at age four when I sang in the church, I projected loud enough that they didn’t even have to mic me,” laughs Jason. “My grandmother taught me from an early age to sing from the diaphragm to support my vocals and appreciate the piano.” From grandma’s keys to stages across the nation, his energetic show has left a lasting impression among his fans including one signing session that ran for seven hours. Additionally, this “human jukebox” of material recently performed more than 100 songs in 28 hours during his sojourn at the premiere Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN.

When he’s not stomping out the groovin’ new-country tunes, the Pella, Iowa native likes to spend his hours among the wildlife hunting whatever game is currently in season, enjoying downtime with his family, two children, and of course fishing. He currently resides between Nashvile, TN (where he recently won the CMA Fanfest title of 'Celebrity Bull Riding Champion 2008') and Des Moines, Iowa. “People don’t realize what an untapped resource of talented musicians live in the area,” says Jason. Although Des Moines has produced notable rock, R&B and pop acts such as Slipknot, Stone Sour, and T-Boz of TLC, Brown’s paving the path for the first country artist to emerge from what Fast Company Magazine calls “the hippest city in the U.S.”

Brown is hitting the market with his first single, We’re All in the Same Boat, a rowdy track describing a guy’s day out on the lake hiding from their wives which is set to impact radio on April 15th. The full album, Living Off the Land, landing on retail shelves in mid May shares its title with a track Brown co-wrote describing the rural scene that he became so familiar with in Iowa. ”It’s a very true song about what is going on,” says Jason. “I know farmers that have sold their land and are still living off the land they sold.” Throughout his music you hear numerous influences such as Craig Morgan, Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap, Clay Walker, Billy Joel, Poison and Mark Chesnutt. With his growing fanbase and career momentum, it won’t be long before Jason sails in the “same boat” as the major label debuts by new acts Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jason Michael Carroll and Chuck Wicks.
