Hailing from San Francisco, the versatile and revered stage and screen actor Danny Glover might be most widely recognized from the Lethal Weapon series of films in the role of Sergeant Roger Murtaugh alongside Mel Gibson. But by that time he had already assembled an impressive resume, making his film debut in Escape from Alcatraz in 1979. In the '80s, he went on to appear in supporting roles in Places in the Heart, Witness, and The Color Purple.
