When keyboard player Dwayne Ford began working with guitarists Terry Danko and Jim Atkinson in Toronto in the early '70s, the trio took the obvious name of Atkinson, Danko and Ford. When they added drummer Brian Hilton and guitarist Hugh Brockie, the name changed for the self-titled Atkinson, Danko & Ford with Brockie & Hilton (1972). Finally settling with a lineup in 1974, they added bassist Chris Vickery and renamed the band Bearfoot. The group had two Canadian hits that year: "Molly" and "Passing Time." The LP Passing Time was released by Dwayne Ford & Bearfoot in 1975. Ford began a solo career in the early '70s; his 1981 album Needless Freaking featured the hits "Lovin' and Losin' You" and "Hurricane." ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
