Erykah Badu

Blending elements of R&B, hip-hop, jazz and soul Erykah Badu has engaged audiences with her music since bursting onto the American music scene with her 1997 debut album "Baduizm". She is sometimes described as the "Queen of Neo" or alternatively "The First Lady of Neo Soul" for her role in the rise of the Neo-Soul genre of music during the late 90's.

Erykah Badu has released five additional albums since her debut, and collaborated with many artists including rapper Common and the Soulquarians. She writes her own music and directs her own music videos, and has appeared in several feature length films such as "Blues Brothers 200", and "The Cider House Rules".
