Micah Lashbrook as been playing guitar on stages around California since he could ride a bike. However, sometime in his early twenties, the San Diego native re-invented himself as a singer/songwriter--after growing frustrated with years of toiling in different bands and fruitlessly searching for an adequate frontman. In the process, he discovered a booming soulfulness in his own voice.

Eventually, Lashbrook teamed up with percussionist Marlin George. The result of the this collaboration is a band called, "The Laughing Man" and an album named, "A Palace For Alice", dedicated to the untimely passing of Lashbrook's mother, for whom the album is named.

Set for release this fall, the record is an unbridled celebration of life--warts and all. Blending elements of classic hard rock, reggae, funk, and avant-folk, the album displays a mastery of genre-blending, both edgy and expressive.

As a solo performer, Lashbrook summons only an acoustic guitar and his singular voice to paint songs of different colors, conflicts and celebration. Indeed, its been quite some time since there has been anything as refreshing as the sincerity pulsing through Lashbrook's achingly beautiful songs.
