Mikey de Lara’s voice can sound achingly beautiful while singing a ballad or equally powerful when he releases a growling scream. He’s been referred to as Death Cab for Cutie meets Glen Hansard and Kurt Cobain mixed with Jon Mayer. Mikey writes songs from the heart and soul, and songs that tell a story we can all relate to. From his song “Holding On”: “The things that we can’t see connect us all/ So I say to you must be holding on/to the memory of a life that’s come and gone/ So long/ ‘Cause if you wanted to watch the night turn into dawn…”
On August 12th, 2008, Big Sky Record Company released “Songs for Lulu,” Mikey's first solo release.
