Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church

Several years back, we asked ourselves the question, "What is it that God wants us to be and to do as His church here on earth?" That's a challenging question, but we struggled with it through prayer, Bible study and reflection and over a six month period we finally discerned what we believe God's will is for our church. That belief is summarized in our Mission Statement which is Lead to Christ; Grow in Christ; Go for Christ.

That Mission Statement has now become our guiding light. We use that statement to determine what programs we will offer at Mariner's. We use that statement to determine staffing needs at our church, and we use that statement to guide us in our budgeting process. We deeply believe that we are called to be intentional in our efforts to reach out to people who don't yet know Jesus and help them, through the power of God's Holy Spirit, to enter into a relationship with Jesus (Lead to Christ). We seek to provide an environment where people are challenged and nurtured into a deeper relationship with Jesus (Grow in Christ). Finally, we feel called by God to put our relationship with Jesus into action by seeking to discern our spiritual gifts and putting them to use in God's Kingdom (Go for Christ).
