Laurel & Hardy Audience Favorites
The Silent Clowns Film Series has been showing classic silent comedy films with live accompaniment on Sunday afternoons in New York City for 13 years. Join us for an afternoon of Laurel and Hardy comedies with live piano accompaniment by Ben Model. After years of solo work, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy came together at the Hal Roach Studio in 1927 and soon became Hal Roach's most famous and lucrative stars. The pair appeared together in over 100 films in 25 years and successfully navigated the transition from the era of silent films to the advent of sound. In their comedies, human foibles and the frustrations of everyday life were magnified a hundred times over.
