Greek Food Festival

St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church’s Annual Food Festival been set for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 3, 4, 5 and 6, 2009, at the Hellenic Center of the church from 11 am to 9 pm daily.
St. Sophia’s Festivals have been made possible by the members of the parish who continue to volunteer their time and talents for the church’s major fund raiser.
The menu for the four-day festival will include lamb shanks, chicken oregano, pastichio, moussaka, gyro sandwich, Greek potatoes, Greek salad, Greek-style green beans, dolmathes, spanakopeta, tiropeta and rice pudding. Women of the parish work tirelessly to produce the thousands of pieces of Greek pastry (baklava, finikia, kourambiethes, koulourakia, to name a few) that will be required. There is no charge for admission to the festival.
New this year will be the Greek Marketplace where you can purchase the best of Greek products for your kitchen and also a White Elephant Booth. For more information please call (860) 442-2377.
