Ella

Runs July 21 - September 20, 2009 (Opens on July 24) Ella explodes onto the stage in a torrent of jazzy passion, weaving myth, memory and music to tell the uplifting and poignant story of one of the greatest jazz and pop vocalists of the 20th century. Ella herself dominates, accompanied by the boys in the band who provide the beat for indelible hits and step in to provide voices from her past. In this unique presentation, with a book by playwright Jeffrey Hatcher (The Government Inspector), actress Tina Fabrique makes her Guthrie debut as Ella, reprising a portrayal Variety called "a must-see performance!" Directed by Rob Ruggiero.
