New York's most popular outdoor film festival returns to Bryant Park once again this year. Every Monday night at sunset, catch film classics, like The Sting, and oddball romances, like Harold & Maude, while enjoying an evening in the park. This week, bring a friend to see Harold & Maude on the big screen.
"Single male, 20, seeks older (79) single female for meaningful relationship. Enjoys sunsets, walks on the beach, attending funerals, driving a hearse and staging suicides." Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon are the extremely odd, yet oddly perfect, couple at the heart of this pitch-black romantic comedy.
It has become a certifiable cult classic (officially ranked 4th after This Is Spinal Tap, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Freaks in 2003 by Entertainment Weekly). Music is by 70's folk/pop legend Cat Stevens.
The lawn opens at 5:00pm for blankets and picnicking. The films begin at dusk (typically between 8pm and 9pm).
