Downtown Lancaster, S.C. artist studios,gallery, & outdoor garden owned & operated by award winning sculptor Bob Doster. Housed in a row of historic pool halls & cafes known as "Backstreet" the gallery & garden have been described as little "SOHO",avant garde, funky, trendy, ecclectic, "New York". Gallery exhibits change regularly and include an incredible personal collection of more than 30 years of artists who range from student & outsider to nationally known & accomplished artists. Gallery & Garden are available for rental for special events & tour groups/field trips are welcomed. Bob Doster is recipient of Verner-O'Neill governor's award, highest honor for artists in S.C., 2002 Hero of the Child Award, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year, and York County Cultural & Heritage "Keeper of the Culture" as well as many other awards in his nearly forty year career as a working artist.
