Elbert County Museum - Tour Prehistoric Kiowa

Check out the oceans, the dinosaurs and the ancient forests of Elbert County.

Ten years ago, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science conducted a 2,256 foot deep core drilling into the earth beneath the Elbert County Fairgrounds. From that core, Denver Museum scientists, working with local artists, re-created several ancient landscapes.
