Sotterley Plantation, a National Historic Landmark, is still making history after 300 years! Nestled along the shore of the Patuxent River, it is the only Tidewater plantation open to the public. There is an 18th century Mansion, an original 1830's Slave Cabin, beautiful Colonial Revival Gardens, nature trails, and numerous historic outbuildings. Its mission is to preserve, interpret, and research the diverse cultures and environments throughout its history, to serve as a public education resource, and to provide a cultural venue for the community.
