Jumpin' Jehosafats

Free will offering fundraiser for _____________________________________ sponsored by Hayward United Methodist Church .
The Hayward United Methodist Church is bringing the Jumpin' Jehosafats back to Hayward for a benefit concert for ____________________________. They will appear on FRIDAY, August 7TH, at 7:30 pm at the Park Theater.
The Jumpin' Jehosafats have been together since 1985 and have played over seven hundred benefit concerts in the Midwest and Caribbean . All proceeds beyond expenses are given to charitable causes. To date, they have helped raise close to $500,000 for United Methodist related ministries such as Operation Classroom, United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), and many other ecumenical causes such as Habitat for Humanity and disaster relief.
Their music is equal parts Traditional Jazz and Gospel. They have played in churches, prisons, nursing homes, homeless shelters, riverboats, the Minnesota State Fair, and hilltop Jamaican villages. They have played in Haiti and have future trips planned to Africa and India . Every summer they take a "world tour" of northern Minnesota .
The band philosophy can be summed up in the words of one of their leaders when he says, "I believe God wants us to have fun. We're designed to laugh and sing and dance. That's one of the ways God lifts our spirits. It's a way of remembering that the world is not on our shoulders, but that God is in charge."
