Scottie Templeton is a charming irresponsible fellow. A sometime Broadway press agent and former scriptwriter, he is everyone's friend, nobody's hero and a great womanizer who has managed to live most of his 50 years without taking anything seriously including love, marriage and fatherhood.Life has been one continuous gag, but now he learns he is fatally ill. His alienated, now grown son arrives to meet him and pay tribute.
