Shaler Township Community Day Celebration

Fifth Annual Jane Neely Run for Your Life 5K Race: Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. at Kiwanis Park. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (C.O.R.E.).

The Crawford Pool at Kiwanis Park will be open from noon to 5 p.m. with special guest D.J. Jazzy Jason Kauffman filling the air with music from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

There will be fire truck rides in the parking lot from 1 to 3 p.m. This year the township is adding more kid-friendly and community tent attractions from 4 to 8 p.m., including moon bounces and other inflatable attractions, clowns and balloon artists. The Kiwanis Club concession stand will be open all day.

The annual Military Recognition Ceremony will be on the main stage at 7 p.m., followed by a performance by the Uptown Rhythm and Brass Band at 7:30 p.m.

As per tradition, a fireworks display, this year by Pyrotecnico, will conclude the evening at dusk. In the event of rain, the fireworks display will be postponed to Sunday, July 5.
