At the turbulent crossroads where bop jazz, rhythm and blues and early rock 'n' roll collided, a new musical form was born. Sometimes called jump blues, others boogie woogie, this music quickly became the ultimate party sound with raw vocals, wailing saxophones and horn sections, and a driving beat that made people move.
