Darrah Cloud's dramatic exploration of Willa Cathers’s 1913 novel traces the life of a young woman who takes charge of her family's Nebraska homestead after her father's death. In taming the land and raising her three brothers she neglects her emotional life until it is almost too late. The Stanford Weekly called this new adaptation a "poignant blend of stirring drama, powerful music and bittersweet romance."
