Educate yourself about African-American history with a viewing of M.K. Asante Jr.'s film The Black Candle. The film provides background for furthering discussion on the purpose of Kwanzaa as a tool of social change and empowerment. I look at the tradition from a historical perspective and how we can celebrate its principles as a cultural tradition.
