Coney Island Nathan's Famous July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest

Nathan’s Famous, Inc. is now preparing for its annual Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest, which will return at high noon on July 4, 2009, as it has for decade after decade at the company’s flagship restaurant at the corner of Surf and Stillwell avenues in Coney Island.

The event will pit two-time champion Joey Chestnut against six-time champion Takeru Kobayashi. Kobayashi lost to Chestnut last year in an exhilarating five-dog overtime and is looking to reclaim his title.
