Brentano String Quartet

Displaying "an almost unearthly level of perfection" (The Times, London), the celebrated Brentano String Quartet was formed in 1992 and soon won both the first Cleveland Quartet Award and the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award. In recent seasons, the ensemble has traveled widely, appearing to great acclaim in the world's most esteemed venues, including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. The Brentano is a particular favorite with Cal Performances audiences, its concerts promising an experience of chamber music at its most sublime.
