In his "Field Guide to the Irish Music Session," Barry Foy defines a 'session' as a "...gathering of Irish traditional musicians for the purpose of celebrating their common interest in the music by playing it together in a relaxed, informal setting..."

This event is held in conjunction with the tapping of a firkin - usually one of The Livery's highly regarded, small batch, REAL ales. Unique to The Livery, these beers allow renowned Brewmaster Steve Berthel a chance to showcase his talent.
