The Persuasions

The Persuasions are a monumental gospel, R & B and a cappella group that has inspired audiences and performers alike for over thirty years. Their smooth style and tight harmonies prove time and again that the most precious instrument of all, the human voice, creates the ultimate in musical experience. Together since they started singing on the stoops of Brooklyn in 1961, The Persuasions have released over 20 albums and have recorded or performed with artists including Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, The Neville Brothers and B.B. King. They’ve been dubbed the "Kings of A Cappella" by National Public Radio and their vocal style has paved the way for today's platinum a cappella acts, Take 6 and Bobby McFerrin, as well as the retro-hip-hop style of Boyz II Men.
